I sat down a few nights ago to create some watercolor textures. I’ve wanted to have some in my bag of design tricks for a while, and wasn’t happy with what I was finding on the web. Plus, I like to create my own textures whenever possible. It just feels good. I’m by no means a watercolor artist, so it took me a bit to get into a groove and actually create something useful. Along the way I discovered if I puddled a few colors together and blew on the puddles while turning the paper I got some pretty interesting results.

Watercolor Photoshop Brush Set

I thought these splatters would make a great set of Photoshop brushes. I know there are plenty of splatter paint style PS brushes out there. But, every splatter is unique and these happen to be pretty interesting and even sparked a bit of creative juice. Below is some artwork that I created using these brushes to illustrate the style and usefulness of this set. If you download and use these brushes, be sure to share your work in the Room122 Flickr Community!
