Photoshop is like an old friend that you’ve known for years, and that you see everyday… and suddenly you learn something new about that friend that’s been there all along, and you can’t believe you didn’t see it before. Recently I discovered the Delete All Hidden Layers feature in Photoshop. It’s probably been there since version 1, and I just never paid attention.
If you’re like me, while designing in Photoshop you turn layers off instead of deleting them, so that you can return to them at anytime. I often create new layers to experiment with. Instead of deleting them, if the experiment fails, I typically just turn them off. This leaves my .psd with potentially several MB of unused layers in the end.
These two clicks are a great way to clean up your file once the design is complete.

THANKS! lol.
It’s a great tip.I’ve never noticed this before. Thanks a lot.
gracias por el aviso
Does not appear to work if you’re using animations and want to delete all layers not used in the frames. Highlighting all the frames and clicking “delete hidden layers” still just takes out everything but one frame’s layer, unfortunately. Is there a way around this that you’ve happened upon?
