About Nathan
Nathan Brown followed his passion for art before he even read well. By the time he was 6, the impact of visuals and the powerful emotion they can convey had his full attention. Comic books and graphic novels led to the serious practical and theoretical study of art and photography through his school years and into college. With a major in Graphic Design and Multimedia, Nathan graduated in 2000 from the prestigious Art Institute in Dallas, Texas.
His first corporate job found him designing and authoring DVDs and interactive CD-ROMs for two years. That position led to another as lead designer for a company where his primary role was to maintain client relationships and design and author websites based on project needs. All the while, he maintained a steady stream of happy freelance clients, as well, creating web design, book covers, movie posters, album covers, corporate branding concepts, and logo illustration. One of those freelance clients was Writers of the Round Table Inc. The sum of that eight years of experience was an apt proving ground for his joining the Writers of the Round Table team in October 2007.
Nathan says his greatest joy in design work is getting to create elements that evoke the emotions and ideas at the core of any given project, especially those that need color or visual appeal. He feels that projects with The Table are more tied to human emotion than most of his previous work was. “I’m using my design skills to evoke feelings and ideas and, typically, I’m putting the first face on a client’s project. When it clicks, it’s just a wonderful feeling!”
Nathan makes his home near Austin, Texas, where he lives with his wife Jamie and their one year old son, Taylor.
